Usable Health is looking for ambitious, experienced, and creative interns for the Spring and Summer of 2012! All internships are paid, and can be either part-time or full-time depending on your availability. Available internship positions are: software engineering, data science, user experience design, installation and support, and business development. Working at Usable Health
At Usable Health, we’re changing the way people order at restaurants. Our smartmenus improve diners’ ordering experience and support busy restaurant staff. Our online tools help restaurateurs manage their business more effectively. Developing technology for restaurants and the restaurant industry is challenging! We’re not your ordinary online startup; our product mixes hardware, software, and cloud components. Location
Our office is located in midtown Atlanta, near the Georgia Institute of Technology campus. It’s easily accessible by public transportation, bike and car.

Software Engineering Intern
You will help us build a robust, stable and scalable software architecture that will allow us to grow from 20 restaurants to 20,000+ restaurants. You will also have a strong voice in brainstorming and prototyping upcoming smartmenu features.
Though the majority of applications you will develop are web-based, our business depends on a diverse set of hardware platforms, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and payment processing services. Applicants from a wide range of technical backgrounds are welcome!
Data Science Intern
Usable Health generates and receives volumes of data about nutritional information, diner preferences, restaurant operations, and much more. You will work with our development team and our management team to tame this data and utilize it for next-generation product offerings. This is a chance to apply machine learning, cloud services, distributed data storage, and other cutting-edge technology toward an end that everyone can appreciate!
User Experience Design Intern
Apply your design skills toward improving a system that is used by thousands of people each day! You will work with our development team to redesign our diner-facing and/or restauranteur-facing applications to be easy-to-use, engaging, and fun. You will also have a strong voice in brainstorming and prototyping upcoming smartmenu features.
Installation and Support Intern
The perfect position for someone with a deep technical background, but who prefers interacting with customers to writing code. You will work with our support and logistics team to perform on-site installations, as well as to improve and harden our installation and support process. Your feedback from the front lines will be invaluable to the design, management, and development teams.
Business Development Intern
You will assist our management and sales teams in forming relationships with POS vendors, restauranteurs, and other restaurant-industry stakeholders who can help our business expand and grow.
